It’s the holiday season and there is SO MUCH GOING ON. Luckily, most of it, excluding the crazy shopping, is all fun stuff, which means there’s lots of dressing up and seeing people you probably haven’t seen in a a while. I absolutely love this because it gives me the opportunity to try out new glam makeup looks instead of my usual go-to. This past weekend I went to a beautiful wedding and had so much fun getting ready ! When going to do my makeup, I honestly had no idea what I was going to do, but I ended up really liking it and thought I would share it with you today!
I always start out with a primer. Right now I’m using the Live Green Makeup Primer Mist.I randomly picked this one up from Marshalls and I don’t think it does as great of a job as some higher end primers, but for the price (I think it was like $4), I’d say it does pretty well!
After the primer dries, I apply my foundation. I pump a little (about 2 pumps) onto the side of my hand and dab it onto my face with my fingers.
Next, I use my Real Techniques buffing brush and use circular motions to blend it into my skin. Right now I’m using the Perfect Peach Comfort Matte Foundation from Too Faced cosmetics. I had a lot of people asking me about how I like this, and so far I’m really enjoying it! It has a very natural finish with good coverage and I mean, it smells like peaches so I count that as a win.
While I’m waiting for my foundation to set in a little, I apply Urban Decay’s Original Eye Primer with my fingers. For eyeshadow, I used my Morphe 350Shimmer Nature Glow Palette and the Tartelette in Bloom Palette. I first pat the darker copper shade from the Morphe Palette onto the center of my eyelid with my finger. I then take the shade leader from the Tartelette Palette and apply it around my crease and blend both those shades thoroughly with a fluffy eyeshadow brush (my eyeshadow brushes are from Amazon and work great!). Next, I use the sparkly chocolate brown shade from the Morphe Palette and blend that into my crease as well. I then apply a tiny bit of the Urban Decay Primer on my bottom water line and use a small angled brush to apply just a hint of the shade leader to the outer corner and make sure not to bring it too far in towards my nose.
Eyeliner is up next and I usually go for a wing with my trusty L’oréal Infallible Liquid Eyeliner. Once that dries I blend in the eyeshadow a bit more and brush away the leftover shadow that falls under my eye. I then use the Makeup Forever HD Concealer and just dab that in a half moon shape going under my eye and up my cheekbone. This not only brightens your under eye, but shapes out your eyeshadow to make it more noticeable.
Moving on to lashes, I always curl mine first and then us the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. For special occasions, I’ll do a second coat with the L’oréal Voluminous Mascara to create a more full look.
Now my brows look insanely bare compared to the rest of my face, so with a small angled brush I apply Ulta’s Brow Pomade. I just use flicking motions to cover up most of the empty spots.
I save the best for (almost) last! Contour! I’ve been using this contour palette from Tarte and have concluded it’s amazing. To start, I use a tapered brush and apply just a bit of the contour shade right under my cheekbone. I blend that in with a blush brush and then apply a little of each shade of bronzer. When I feel that it’s even, I use the same brush and apply the blush right on the apples of my cheeks and in swirling motions blend that up my cheek towards my temple. Last is highlighter, and with my finger I apply just a bit of the white highlight on the cheekbone and then apply the pinky one with whatever brush is closest to me usually.
Very last is lips. I thought about doing a Christmas red but stuck with my favorite nudes. First, I apply the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in the shade sandstorm and over that I apply the Color Pop Cosmetics Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick in the shade 951.
Once lips are done I just do a few touchups and set my makeup with my Clinique Uplighting Illuminating Powder.
I hope you all like this look and maybe even try it out yourself! Let me know in the comments any tips or tricks you have when doing your makeup.
I hope you all have such an AMAZING Christmas and holiday season filled with friends, family and of course…food!
Have a Delightful Holiday Season,
