Once again I am absolutely blown away by time and how incredibly fast it moves. I feel like it was just yesterday I was celebrating the brand spanking new year of 2017, but here I am saying, “goodbye, see yah never, adiós”. 2017 is a year I’ll never forget and to thank the year for all the great memories, I would like to do a little recap of My 5 Favorite Moments of 2017! If you’d like to see my New Years post from 2016 head on over here.
Studying in Ireland was one of the best decisions I have ever made and was my highlight of 2017. While in Ireland I had the opportunity to travel to The Netherlands, England, Scotland, Italy, and Switzerland. These four months opened my heart and eyes to so much more than I could have ever anticipated. If you’d like to see more about my travels, head on over to the Travels tab.
2.) Newfound Friends
This section goes hand in hand with traveling, seeing that I met all my new friends through travel. Having people you can rely on while in a foreign country is essential and I was so happy to have these buddies by my side. Some of my strongest and most fond memories are with them and 2017 most definitely would have been less interesting without their presence. I can only hope 2018 brings reunions and more adventures with all of you!
3.) Family Meet Ups
I’m so incredibly lucky to have family from all over, but that also means I don’t get to see them as often as I’d like. This year I got to meet up with SO many family members I haven’t seen in quite some time. My family in Ireland consistently welcomed me, making living in a foreign country, a bit more like home. My cousin in Switzerland led me through hikes with views of the Swiss Alps and fed me until my belly was way too full. Last, but definitely not least, my wonderful family from Georgia was able to come up to Ohio not only once but twice this summer. Having little, crazy cousins around made me one happy gal.
3.) Living with my best friends
You have seven roomates?! This is usually the response when I tell people my living situation. Despite the number, I can’t express my love for these woman enough. Living on your own for the first time is a nerve-racking milestone but being surrounded by the most kind and supportive people makes living with seven other’s so easy. When I’m old and grey, I know I’ll be reminiscing on our not so cheerful morning afters, movie nights, and abundant strange conversations.
4.) Turning 21
The big 2-1! I finally made it and having my family and friends to celebrate with made it all worth while. If you’d like to learn 21 things about me then head on over to my 21st birthday post, here!
5.) Delightful Days
Delightful Days has been, without a doubt, one of my favorite parts of 2017. Having my own space to be creative and share my thoughts is what motivates and excites me on a day to day basis. Seeing how far I have come and the amount I have learned from this little intangible space, makes me extremely eager for what’s to come in the year ahead. Whether it’s photographers, other content creators, or my friends and family who are constantly providing behind the scenes support, I have had so many insightful people tag along on this journey of mine. My heart has been overwhelmed with gratitude in 2017.
I can only hope that your 2017 was filled with awe-inspiring moments and that your 2018 has more adventure and magic that you could have dreamed. I encourage you to take some time to reflect on your year, and set some goals for this next chapter. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for stopping by and I’ll see you all in 2018.
Cheers and Have a Delightful New Years,
