5 Ways to Treat Yourself This Valentines Day

If you haven’t caught on by now, I’m sort of a holiday nut. If you give me an opportunity to celebrate, I’m there and Valentine’s Day is no exception. Although Valentines Day is known more as a couples holiday, I’m a firm believer in self love and this is a perfect opportunity to celebrate that. Every Valentine’s Day I try to do a few little things to celebrate, like buying myself a special coffee or taking extra time to myself. In case you’re feeling a little down during this holiday or weren’t planning on celebrating…I’m here to share 5 ways you can treat yourself this Valentine’s Day! 


1. ) Do the Galentine’s Day Thing!

I love that Galentine’s Day is now a holiday and celebrated by so many people! Life can get so hectic that it can be hard to make time for your gal pals. Decorate your place and have a party, get dinner and drinks, have a movie night; there’s no limit on what you choose to do as long as you’re spending time with the people you love the most. Here are some more ideas on how you can spend your Galentine’s Day.

2.) Get Yourself Some Of The Good Stuff

This is a VERY important step to doing Valentine’s Day right. Indulge yourself a little and pick up a few of your favorite chocolate snacks! My go to items would definitely have to be Oreos (I swear I could eat a whole pack of these), Dove dark chocolates, and Kit-Kats. Have a little bowl of your favorites around the house for a pick me up during the day or if you’re feeling productive you can even check out these Valentine’s Day dessert ideas!

3.) Have a Photoshoot

This might sound silly, but dressing up and taking photos with your friends can be so fun and can make you feel so good about yourself! Go all out on your hair and makeup and set up a space in your house to take some fun pictures. This can even be paired up with Galentine’s Day and you can choose a theme for everyone to dress up as! 4.) Take a Night To Yourself

This can be anything that you want do. You can pamper yourself with a massage or facial (I’ve been loving this mask), read a book you’ve been meaning to get to, or catch up on whatever hobby you enjoy. Dedicating a night purely for your own enjoyment is the best way to treat yourself and express some much needed self love.

5.) Make a List of Everyone/Everything You Love

A little reflection never hurt anybody and what a perfect time to reflect on all the love in your life. Make a list of the people in life you appreciate with maybe some fun memories as well. Recognizing the love and joy that surrounds you will definitely have you in the Valentines Day spirit in no time.
